Check list of documentation required for registration as self-employed

This is the basic information we need to start register you in the RETA, the special SS regime for Autonom@s.

1. A Copy of Your DNI/NIE: Please provide a scanned copy of your national identity card (DNI) or foreigner identification number (NIE).
2. Marital Status and Relevant Dates: Share your marital status, if applicable, (single, married, divorced, widow/widower) along with the relevant dates.
3. IBAN of Your Spanish Bank Account: We need your International Bank Account Number (IBAN) for financial transactions.
4. Proposed Start Date: Let us know the date when you intend to commence your activity. Remember that you cannot engage in any economic activity in Spain before this date.
5. Brief Activity Description: Please provide a short description of your planned economic activity. This will help us identify the suitable Economic Activity Code (CNAE 2025).
6. Work Location Address: If you are working from home, specify the address. Additionally, indicate the square meters of the area you will be using for your activity (e.g., if you are using a room of 9m² out of a total surface area of 100m²).
7. Estimated Annual Income: Share your estimated annual income.
8. Special Flat Rate for Social Security Payments: Confirm whether you wish to apply for the special flat rate for Social Security payments. This reduced monthly fee of €80 is available to new self-employed individuals for one year before transitioning to regular contributions based on actual income.
9. Clients from the European Union: If you anticipate having clients from the EU, you’ll need to register in the special ROI (VIES) registry. This registration allows you to issue invoices to EU clients without charging VAT.
10. Your Social Security number in Spain. If you do not have it yet, we need to request it in your registration document. For this, I would need to know your place of birth (City, Province, Country) and your parents’ names.
